RHD Boost Update is produced by the Invasive Animals CRC to keep you informed about the progress and national release of RHDV`K5 to boost rabbit biocontrol.

New video series on rabbit control 

In preparation for the release of RHDV1 K5 in the first week of March, a brand new video series on best practice rabbit control is now available online to assist Australian land managers apply best practice pest rabbit control during autumn.

This series has been funded by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) and developed in conjunction with the Invasive Animals Cooperative Research Centre (IA CRC) and its partners.

RabbitScan NEWS for Apple device users – please install version 1.14

RabbitScan developers have resolved a minor issue that may have been affecting a users capacity to record data as part of their involvement in the National RHDV Monitoring Program.

In order to reduce the likelihood of this problem occurring, please install an update of the free FeralScan App onto your phone at your earliest convenience. The updated Apple App (version 1.14) can be installed from iTunes AppStore, click https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/id975407187 or via the RabbitScan homepage - www.rabbitscan.org.au

This issue only affects Apple device users (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch). If you are using an Android device or the website itself, there is no need to update anything.

Healthier Landscapes portal update

The Healthier Landscapes portal has been recently updated, and is your one-stop-shop for all information relating to the release of RHDV1 K5. The landing page now includes:

  • Information on how to prepare for the release, including a new RabbitScan App tutorial,
  • an RHDV K5 information booklet for download,
  • a suite of instructional videos to assist land managers of release sites,
  • an updated frequently asked questions page,
  • how to report evidence of rabbits and rabbit disease, and
  • many more fact sheets, reports and video resources
