Cape Light Compact is pleased to announce our electric power supply pricing for the period starting with June 2017 meter reads.

In January, the Compact teamed up with NextEra Energy Services to bring a sustainability focus to its power supply program. All of the Compact's customers' energy usage will be matched 100% with renewable energy certificates. 

The Compact's 100% renewable energy aggregation program continues to remain competitively priced, including our residential rate that is priced below Eversource's rate starting July 1.

Unlike past summers, where pricing for the summer and fall has generally decreased from the first half of the year due to winter natural gas pipeline constraints, the pricing for this term is increasing slightly from current rates due to increased capacity market costs. Capacity costs reflect the cost to build and maintain enough power plants to meet all electricity requirements for customers in New England, especially on those hot summer days when everyone is running their air conditioners. This ensures that the New England power grid can keep electricity flowing to you even in emergency situations. This is not unique to the Compact's power supply program - all retail suppliers that serve customers in New England are facing these increased costs.
