COURT 1: NEW STAGGERED TIME SLOTS
    IN THE MORNING

The morning tag up hours are becoming increasingly popular, and as the competition increases, it is putting pressure on our somewhat outdated Wait Line system. To address this and reduce the wait time, we are putting Court 1 on a morning staggered tag up schedule that will apply until 1PM. This will be a trial for the remainder of the season. It comes into effect August 15 (Monday).

During the week, Early Birds will begin at 7:30AM and continue until 9:30AM on Court 1 only. See Clubhouse notice below.

Following Early Birds, tag up times for Court 1 will be from 9:30-10:30AM, 10:30-11:30AM, 11:30AM-12:30PM.  Court 1 returns to on-the-hour scheduling at 1:00 PM, giving the 11:30AM tag up members an opportunity to play for 90 minutes on that court.

On weekends, morning tag up times for Court 1 will also be on the half hour and return to on-the-hour scheduling at 1:00 PM.

THERE IS NO CHANGE TO SCHEDULED PLAY TIME ON COURT 2 OR COURT 3, AND COURT 3 REMAINS A RESERVED COURT.

CHANGE /CLARIFICATION TO THE ½ HOUR RULE IN
“COURTS AND BOOKING”

Currently the rule on the Club website says:
“Normal rotation play periods consist of 1 hour during daytime and generally 45 minutes in the evenings when play time on courts 1 and 2 is staggered. One hour periods may be changed to 2 half hour periods if too many members are waiting for a court. Only doubles should be played on courts 1 and 2 if members are in the wait line at the changeover time.”

The Board has now passed a resolution quantifying “too many members” as eight or more members.  At this level, those waiting may now invoke the ½ hour play period for courts 1 and 2.  This clarification of the existing rule applies immediately.

CHANGE TO MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

The maintenance schedule for the courts has been adjusted to accommodate the hotter weather.
  • All courts are available at 7:00 AM for play.
  • All courts will be watered, swept and maintained 3-4 PM, seven days a week, rather than 1-2 PM and juniors are encouraged to play between 1-3 PM.
There is no change to the evening maintenance schedule.

Thanks for reading and working with us to improve everyone’s experience on the Courts.  Please share any feedback you have – good or bad – with any Board member.

Your Board
SPEAKING OF MAINTENANCE...

Many thanks to those members who have been sweeping and/or watering the courts before or after their play. The courts are looking in great shape, especially given the extremely hot and dry weather.

As a reminder, if you use the courts for two hours or are part of a program that is using the courts for two hours, the courts must be swept either at the beginning or end of play. It is also important that the direction of sweeping be alternated.  Please try to sweep sideline to sideline for every time you sweep baseline to baseline.

Some members have been helping out with a light hand watering that allows you to play immediately afterwards - and hopefully have seen the tremendous benefit. We encourage you to try it.  It will improve the game.  The hoses are always out and turned on.
2016 OPEN FORUM WITH THE BOARD: AUGUST 21ST 2-4PM

Following on last year's efforts to keep our members up-to-date on goings-on at the Club and get feedback on our members' thoughts, we are hosting the 2016 Open Forum for our members on Sunday, August 21st. Please join us to meet members of the Board, tell us what you like and don't like about this season, ask questions, explain any concerns, and give us suggestions you think could make our Club even better. We'd love to hear from you and get you involved in shaping the Club for the future.

This is a two-way exchange (so no formal presentation) where several Board members will be available between 2pm and 4pm to answer questions, report on our progress, and find out what is concerning you. Please come join us for this event--rain or shine.
CLUB TOURNAMENT COMING SOON!!!
