KC Streetcar Update | November 2016
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
The Kansas City Streetcar will operate on Thanksgiving, November 24, 2016.  

Hours of Operation: 
Thursday, November 24 (Thanksgiving Day): 7:00am - 10:00pm.
Will operate with two streetcars
Friday, November 25: 6:00am - 2:00am
Saturday, November 26: 7:00am - 2:00am
Sunday, November 27: 7:00am - 10:00pm
DOWNTOWN DAZZLE
DECEMBER 2–4, 9-11 and 16-18From dazzling light displays to merry tours, December in downtown Kansas City is the ultimate destination. 

FEATURED EVENTS
Each Saturday during Downtown Dazzle you can shop, dine or live like a local. Experience a shopping tour through KC's urban neighborhoods, a downtown urban homes tour to see what it's really like inside those condos and celebrate the season with friends or take in a Laser Light Show like never seen before in Kansas City.  

Quixotic, Kansas City’s innovative performance art collective, is producing its first stand-alone laser light show as part of this year’s Downtown Dazzle holiday festivities. The larger-than-life LED lighting display, titled “Luminate: A Holiday Laser Light Installation,” will cover a 50,000-square-foot area spanning Pershing Road and Main Street in downtown Kansas City. Each production of “Luminate: A Holiday Laser Light Installation” will activate every 30 minutes and last approximately five to seven minutes between 6 – 10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 10.

DOWNTOWN DISTRICT EVENTS
Enjoy family-friendly and adults-only festivities in each of the major downtown districts: Crown Center, Power & Light, City Market and Union Station.

THE MIDLAND THEATER
December is full of music and entertainment at the Arrest Bank Theater at the Midland.  Take the KC Streetcar to one of the many shows, including The Night the Buzz Stole Xmas Shows (there are four to choose from). 

THE ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE CINEMA
Check out the holiday movie classics at the Alamo Drafthouse all December long. 

RIDE ALONG
The KC Streetcar will connect you to each district so you can eat, drink and be merry without worrying about parking.
MIND THE LINE

With the holidays come more visitors to the Kansas City downtown area. Please remind family, friends and colleagues that when parking on the KC Streetcar route, to park within the white painted lines. This means that every portion of the vehicle, including the side mirrors, must be inside the painted white lines. This is to ensure that the streetcar has clearance to run along the tracks without any interference.


Since a streetcar cannot swerve, it cannot move out of the way of parked vehicles. Vehicles should also never park on the streetcar tracks or on the adjacent curbs and sidewalks.
 
 The Parking Enforcement with KCPD will ticket, fine and possibly tow vehicles that are improperly parked on a streetcar route, including those that park on the tracks.
