Enjoy Night Out At Theater Next Week to Support Local Clean-Energy Projects

Earlier this fall, we were excited to announce the long-awaited relaunch of our Appalachian Offsets program for the community. We soon identified our first project of upgrading Blue Ridge Group Homes‘ lighting to more energy-efficient LED lamps. The $16,000 project will result in a savings of 57,047 kilowatt hours and $5,018 in energy costs annually, and is only $500 from being fully funded.

To support this project, Charlotte Street Computers donated 50 tickets for us to sell to Asheville Community Theatre's new show, "Snowbound," a world-premiere play featuring live bluegrass music. We are selling these 50 tickets at $10 each to raise the last $500 for this worthy community project.

What: Fundraising performance of "Snowbound" to support energy-efficiency upgrades at Blue Ridge Group Homes
Where: Asheville Community Theatre, 35 East Walnut St.
When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15
How much: 50 tickets at $10 each to raise the final $500

Reserve your seat by donating $10 at this link on our website for each ticket you'd like to buy. Once we receive your donation, we will follow up with you for information to mail your tickets or make them available for pick-up.

3 Other Easy Ways to Support Us in Your Year-End Giving

Although #GivingTuesday is over, there are many ways to contribute to our nonprofit this holiday season and support our work in 2017!

  1. Begin or renew your membership today! Whether your membership is active, lapsed or not existent (yet!), we're always grateful for new and returning members who value both the work we do and the many benefits we offer to our network of engaged residents and building professionals.

  2. Make a tax-deductible donation on our website. With the end of the year upon us, this is a great time to make a donation in any amount to support our programs and reduce your tax liability at the same time.

In The News

The WNCGBC and our blog contributors at Vandemusser Design made a cameo in the latest installment of the "Ashes to Asheville" serial novel published weekly by the Asheville Citizen-Times.

"Barry the Architect had pointed Tammy to the website of the Western North Carolina Green Building Council, of which he was a member. 'Read Amy Musser’s blog post about buying the right air filters for your home,' he’d told her. 'And if you happen to have any interest in green building, read everything Amy writes on that site.'
