Welcome to our second newletter and to a brand new exciting year!

Since launching our website....

We have had a very busy few weeks since launch - meeting new members, planning and attending events including Coffee at Millers Farm Shop and Le Pisani.

We also took some time out for Bottomless Prosecco evening which was a fun festive event and enjoyed by all. Several members rose to  the challenge of never having an empty glass! Click here to see all the photos.

Lot's more coming up in Jan & Feb including:

12th Jan - New Years Resolutions Yoga & Coffee
16th Jan & 8th Feb - Business Planning Workshops
17th Jan & 24th Feb - Lyme Bay Ladies Walks
27th Jan - Social Media Workshop
3rd Feb - Coffee Talk on Goals & Dreams

Don't forget to check the calendar for a full list.
We now have 1,127 members on Facebook. This is fantastic but proving difficult for everyone to keep up with posts and messages. This is out of our hands as we are reliant on the rules of facebook and they curtail large groups options to communicate and post events. Hence the website and launching three different membership options. We have social, business and premium membership and these all come with their own benefits. In less than 2 months we have:

18 Social members
31 Business members
19 Premium members

All membership levels are able to enjoy offers & discounts from a wonderful variety of outlets and services across Lyme Bay. You can access these by using your membership card. Click here for the complete list.
As a regular feature of our newsletter we will be focusing on some of our Premium Members. This month we would like to introduce Dawn Crossingham from D52ltd and Jill Thompson from jtcliq Photography.

D52ltd Business & Employment Consultancy

Hi, my name is Dawn Crossingham and I’m thrilled to be a Lyme Bay Lady. Originally from Tiverton I’ve moved all over the UK and come back home to the South coast.
People often ask me what I do; in a nutshell, ‘Helping people to self-actualize and reach their potential, through career support and business advice.’
Let me tell you about Alice.
Alice is aged 59, a Senior Director who doesn’t want to retire, but dreads going to work in the City every day. Yes, she earns a pretty penny but is so unhappy.
Enter me…. We chat, unpick her career history; talk about her dreams, ambitions and motivations. We throw caution to the wind and dream BIG touched with some reality. After a big battle about self-limiting behaviour and taking the next step, she retires, after 20yrs in the same profession.
I support Alice for six months in setting up her new business, speaking or meeting weekly during the initial days when it would be so easy to give up. Alice is now working as a consultant to the very profession she left, working her hours, choosing contracts she wants, and demanding a better hourly rate, which allows her personal freedom.
Today Alice runs her consultancy from her patio in the Canaries, with a glass of wine, watching the sunset over the sea. Literally miles away from the demanding drudge of city life. J
To quote:
Working with Dawn to plan my future career has been both enlightening and challenging. I also now realise that no amount of money can compensate for a role that doesn’t fit with my values and skills preferences. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Dawn, it has given me the confidence to accept that what I really knew deep down all the time is the right path for me to follow.
I am now ‘living the dream’. Thanks Dawn.

Dawn offers our members a free initial consultation and 10% discount.

jtCliq Photography is solely owned and run by Jill Thompson and it has been a dream of Jill’s for some time to be able to put all time and energy into developing (pardon the pun!) her photography business, as her passion for photography goes back to childhood.
From an early fascination in creating images using her first trusty camera and spending many hours in the darkroom with her Father, Jill has naturally developed her photography skills, especially in following her other love - animals and wildlife, and in particular dogs.

Jill has always owned and worked her own dogs, initially in Agility and Flyball, working her Collie X and her first Flatcoated Retriever. Today she has three Flatcoats that she works in the field and competes with in working Tests and Field Trials, as well as showing them in the breed ring at Crufts.

Jill is often commissioned to work with animal care and rescue organisations, working events and shows, as well as families who wish to capture the true character of their pets

A pet’s body language and eyes often tell a story and the joy of capturing a beloved pet in a photograph that can be treasured for a lifetime is a moment that gives Jill a special buzz.
By exploring the most suited photography for a pet’s obedience level and character, Jill will capture personality along with the real love that can be seen between owner and pet.

There is nothing better than capturing the beauty, determination and concentration of a dog, or dog and handler, working in whichever discipline they’ve chosen to be theirs. Jill loves to photograph dogs working in all disciplines of canine sport including Agility, Flyball, Gundog work and even in the show ring.

Jill’s working photographs don’t end with dogs though. She can often be found at Horse Trials, on the cross country course or alongside the show jumping ring photographing horses and their jockeys in action, or at the races capturing the excitement of the race horse on course, or in the parade ring.

Jill offers LBL members a 10% discount on a photo shoot
