All episodes will be conducted live on Thursdays from 10-11 AM and will allow for a 30-minute conversation between Barry Silverberg (Director, Center for Nonprofit Studies at ACC) and his guests. Immediately following the conversation, the audience will have the opportunity to directly interact with guests for a LIVE Q & A session. All episodes will be recorded and later posted on the Center for Nonprofit Studies' Civil Society webpage for viewing.
This program is guided by CNS' Racial Equity Statement as of June 15, 2020. Through Civil Society, we aim to heighten consciousness, educate and motivate personal and organizational change by incorporating a racial equity lens in our understanding, and provide appreciation of our diverse community.
This series will be followed by similar series on the Latinx Experience in Austin, the Asian Experience in Austin, and the Native American Experience in Austin. We welcome recommendations on topics and people to interview for these series. Email: bsilverb@austincc.edu.

ICYMI - The City of Austin Economic Development Department announced two grants to support and sustain local, small businesses as well as local nonprofit organizations that are facing extreme hardships due to economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Austin Non-Profit Relief Grant is a $6.35 million fund that will provide grants up to $20,000 to Austin nonprofit organizations serving in specific areas of need. Eligible local nonprofits must be headquartered in a City of Austin Council district. The Better Business Bureau of Austin will collect, review, and score applications on behalf of the Economic Development Department. |

So what will happen now that all of the racial equity statements have been issued?
"There were two birds in the woods. It was a very, very cold day. In the distance they saw a hunter, tears in his eyes from the cold, taking aim at them. One bird urged the other to flee with him.
