September 10-11, 2019 - New Orleans, LA - LaSAWG 2019 Conference - A two day conference for learning and sharing about your/our journey towards sustainable agriculture in Louisiana!

September 19-20, 2019 - Alexandria, LA - Annie's Project I - Annie’s Project I is a 16-hour course that is a discussion-based workshop bringing women together to learn from experts in production, financial management, human resources, marketing and the legal field.  Annie’s Project courses have successfully reached more than 9,000 farm and ranch women in 33 states. The next one will be offered on Thursday, September 19th and Friday, September 20th in the Rapides Parish Conference Room at the Dean Lee Research and Extension Center (300 Grady Britt Drive) in Alexandria, Louisiana from 8:30am – 4:30pm each day.  Registration for this workshop is free. Course size is limited, so please register by September 13, 2019. This course includes a workbook and support materials. September 24-25, 2019 - Alexandria/Pineville, LA - Composting for Produce Safety - Do you make compost on your farm? Are you interested in starting a compost business to meet the growing demand for food safety compliant compost on fruit & vegetable farms? October 4, 2019 - Gramercy, LA - St. James Parish Ag Day - All Pre-K through 3rd grade students from St. James Parish will be participating in as many as 28 hands-on agtivities at Fast Food Farm.

October 22-23, 2019 - Baton Rouge, LA - Louisiana Farm to School Conference - Local food procurement, school gardening, and education are the three tenets of farm to school.  This conference is for educators, extension, farmers, and all representatives of the local food system seeking to get fresh, locally-grown produce into Louisiana schools!  A special Meet the Buyer, Greet the Grower procurement networking event will be held the evening of October 22 to facilitate connections between farmers, whole sale buyers, distributors, and child nutrition directors.  Find more information and register at LAF2SC2019.eventbrite.com.  Sponsorship options and limited resource scholarships available.

November 15-16, 2019 - Bogalusa, LA - On Farm Composting School - Hosted by Local Cooling Farms' Grant and Kate Estrade.  Course is designed for composting professionals, farmers, ranchers, gardeners.  Cost is $250 per person and event is rain or shine.  Must register in advance due to limited seating.

January 22-25, 2020 - Little Rock, AR - Southern SAWG Conference - Save the date for Practical Tools and Solutions for Sustaining Family Farms!  Application for scholarships from Louisiana SARE will be open September 26 - November 26.
