Can you feel it? Change is in the air. As we enter our third decade of service, the Center for Nonprofit Studies is growing and taking on new initiatives all of which will be announced over the next few months.

Aside from my perennial self, I'd like to take a moment to officially introduce a few important folks now part of the CNS team. It brings me great pleasure to announce that Kate Tolliver as been promoted to Coordinator. She is a graduate of four of our five certificate programs and has experienced first-hand the extraordinary educational opportunities and wealth of resources CNS provides to the greater Central Texas nonprofit workforce.

Rounding out the CNS team is Carolyn Hoehle, our Strategic Communications Specialist who is now creating and editing our e-newsletter, and Anh Pham, our Administrative Assistant who is also managing our website. Soon, we will be welcoming a new Manager who will oversee several of our new initiatives. Stay tuned for this announcement in the weeks ahead!

With these changes, we are strengthening our capacity to serve the nonprofit workforce needs of the Greater Austin social sector. I encourage you to share your learning needs with us as we continue to grow. As always, thank you for supporting and being part of our community of learning!

COVID-19 has caused many nonprofits to shift their focus to emergency planning for an infectious disease. The Nonprofit Risk Management Center has compiled some tips to help you hone your crisis management skills to offset an infectious disease crisis. In light of recent and ongoing events, now is a good time to re-visit your organization's contingency plans and start training staff on how to handle a crisis.
