Satchidananda Ashram–Integral Yoga International Update
While the doors of our Ashram and Integral Yoga Centers are temporarily closed, our hearts continue to be open! Our Integral Yoga centers and teachers around the globe are hosting many online offerings. On Friday, April 3rd, Nalanie Chellaram will give a live talk hosted by Integral Yoga Europe. This and all offerings are now listed on our "Integral Yoga Virtual Studio" page. Every day we add more listings. The newest initiative is underway: the Yogaville Online Project (YOP), which will also help us produce as much online content and offerings as possible, including an emphasis on spiritual support offerings. So, stay tuned for updates.

By chanting Hari Om, you elevate yourself to a higher level. Hari Om is a universal chant and does not belong to any particular religion. Begin with the sound “ha” at the naval. By repeating that sound, the abdomen contracts and you will feel something at the naval area. Try it: Repeat “ha.” Your energy is sleeping at the naval and the repetition of the sound wakes it up. You can feel the “kick” at the naval when you repeat that sound. It’s the best way of giving yourself an energy boost.... This is a very simple, but efficient practice to have communication with a higher vibration. MORE (Chant with Swami Satchidananda here)

How to Work with Anxiety on the Path of Liberation
As we face uncertain times, anxiety raises its hand for our attention? What is our natural response? To shoo it away, to distract ourselves, to, well, fill in the blank! Bruce Tift, a psychotherapist and Buddhist, offers a different take: Anxiety is a part of our spiritual path. So, how do we skillfully work with it? "Life is a process, and we can never solve a process. We can only participate in this process, either consciously or unconsciously. We can’t make pain go away, although we can reduce unnecessary suffering significantly." MORE

It's very hard to manage the human mind—not just for meditation, but also in the course of daily decisions and choices. Jnana Yoga is one of the primary branches of Yoga that supports us in focusing and purifying the mind. In this video, Swami Divyananda talks about how challenging Jnana Yoga can be even, mind-boggling, and yet the experiential approach is comprised of simple practices and exercises. She shares the tremendous benefits that Jnana Yoga practice can yield, with central importance given to the awakening of the Inner Witness.

It seems that life has taken us all to a surreal place. Initially, when changes happen in our lives, it takes a little time to adjust. Some become fearful, stressed and panicked, others want to help as much as they can. Time and understanding will help us adjust. In these unsteady times we need to find our steadiness. Get back to what is truly real. This is a perfect time to go within. To meditate. Contemplate.... We are of no use to anyone if our thoughts are all over the place. If we thought we were busy before, our minds are even busier now! All this creates more dilemma. MORE

It can be used for personal healing and protection, and is the perfect mantra to repeat to send healing energy to loved ones and to the world-at-large.

Swami Satchidananda made recommendations for keeping our bodies strong, our minds calm, and our hearts open, which all apply especially in this age of the Coronavirus or what I like to call: the “Karuna”-virus. Karuna is the Sanskrit for “compassion.” Having compassion for ourselves and others is paramount, especially now! We can act so that we are less likely to be “influenzed by the influenza.” Here are some Yoga and self-care suggestions... MORE

With the need to "shelter in place" grocery shopping has become challenging for many. In Yogaville, the Satchidananda Farm is in full swing getting seedlings and plants in the ground. The response to the request for assistance in getting the plants in the ground was wonderful.

Much work was accomplished before the rains could come the next day. Enjoy these photos of the work in progress and farm manager Ganesh showing the progress, with some greens ready for picking! In addition to the staff that showed up, there were many volunteers. (report/photos: Jeeva Abbate)
