2018 in Review: $2 million on Centennial

NID's monthly warrants revealed it continued to spend on Centennial Dam in December, bringing total spending to $2.1 million. At the same time, NID hosted Plan for Water community meetings that promised transparency and emphasized sustainable resource management.

Just three months ago, SYRCL and hundreds of community members asked NID to stop spending on Centennial while updating the Raw Water Master Plan. Despite the public pressure, NID plans to still spend on Centennial, recently approving a 2019 budget to spend $1.8 million.

This is incredibly disappointing, and casts shadow on NID's promise to prioritize the Raw Water Master Plan (Plan for Water). It appears NID is continuing to put the cart before the horse.
