The next meeting will be May 22, 2019. The NID Board normally meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m.

Breaking News: NID Approves Water Rates Increase
By April 24, 2019, NID received more than 4500 letters from customers protesting the proposed water rates increase.
Unfortunately,12,500 protests were required to stop the rate change and NID chose to move forward with a water rates hike during their Board Meeting. However, the increase is less overall than originally proposed; the Board’s adopted rates reflect an approximate 17 percent increase over the next three years versus the drastic 89 percent over five years. The rate increase was also delayed until July 1, 2019 and Board Directors required the District to make a 5 percent cut of all expenses for 2019. Find out more here.
Congratulations to all community members who organized this protest! SYRCL is inspired by the impressive level of public engagement and collective concern regarding NID's lack of fiscal responsibility. Your presence and continuous efforts do make a difference.
SYRCL also appreciates NID Board efforts to respond to the community's concerns, and move to examine their fiscal priorities in light of spending millions on the Centennial financial boondoggle. For discussing a spending cap on Centennial during the most recent Administrative Practices Committee meeting, we especially thank NID.
As Don Rogers, publisher of The Union, eloquently stated, "It is a little funny to hear pleas about empty pockets in the wake of spending $12 million so far to speculate on building a dam of questionable merit — ahead even of determining the district’s true water needs."
