Just like that, we’re halfway through the year.
Remember, family matters. Community, too.

Hello fancy friend, how have you been?

In my head, I hear a collective response of “busy” based on the way the world works in 2019. I’m never sure if I find this observation to be amusing or alarming. Probs both in the end. What a time to be alive, am I right?

If anyone was waiting on their newsletter, big apologies for the delay. It lowkey makes my heart do flips thinking you even maybe noticed. On the other hand, if you didn’t notice that it’s already 11 days after the 1st of June (or that my newsletter is supposed to come out on the first of the month), then welcome to the club. Honestly, I’m not always sure where the time goes. Wasn’t it just winter here in MN? At first I was like, it’s fine, it’ll only be a day late, then a few then a week almost two. In any event, thanks for being here with me. What’s been on your mind these days?
These days, I’m remembering that life as we know it has many rules and aspects that we police ourselves by whether they actually matter or not. Remember to zoom out and see that life is just an overarching experience. We’re a bunch of marching ants in someone’s perspective. We have the ability make up our own rules to live by. It starts with mindset, so yeah, internally. The external rewards will follow in suit.

Lately, when I spend time with family, friends, colleagues and even strangers, I make a point of asking questions. The world is the greatest teacher there is. I want to spend life learning in every opportunity through inquisitive vulnerability. Living in the moment and embracing all of the feels. Remembering that time is precious. As my dad would put it, “tomorrow is never promised.”

Enjoy this month’s playlist, ‘All in the Family’ & keep June groovy. Reply to this email with your song suggestions for July’s concept: ‘Is it just me or are we literally living in the matrix?’ #LBVMFS
On the blog - written by an anonymous guest author:
“I have struggled in the past six months to shape (frame) an open letter regarding maternity leave into a meaningful and grippingly relevant story, the likes of which might charge political leaders to take action on protections for new parents in this city and/or state and/or country.” Click here to read more.

Note to my first guest author -
Thank you again for pouring your heart out for others to learn from and empathize with. Thank you for your vulnerability and support. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for being you. You are an awe inspiring mother.

In June, I know time will fly.
So I’m living with intention,
one step at a time.

What’s really real?
