August 2021 Issue - PRG's newsletter provides updates, practical tools, resources and information for our valued community.
PRG recently served as capital campaign counsel to the largest, most successful campaign in recent Sonoma County history – the $48 million Caritas Center, developed by Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa. We invite you to read about this amazing endeavor - article below.

Two Words: Planned Giving

Melissa Irish, PRG Managing Associate

The seas of change are with us once again – the Delta Variant. Luckily, this time we are more prepared. Those masks were easily re-ordered and popped right back into our collective backpacks, purses and glove boxes. We once again get to appreciate the beauty of looking into each other’s eyes, because that is all we can see of our faces! From a fundraising point of view, it’s not such bad news either. We now know how to pivot on a dime to a virtual event and are actually enjoying how many more prospects and donors across a wider geography we can connect with over Zoom. We are well-versed in how to convey the urgent needs we must meet as this pandemic continues to unfold.

So, what is the next challenge? Two words: Planned Giving. Yes, the best time to start a program was 10 years ago. The second-best time is today. One thing we know for sure (to quote Oprah) is that building your organizations endowed and operating reserves it NOT a luxury, but prudent, pressing priority to combat these “winds of change” so that regardless of how they blow us around, or knock us down, we can still fulfill our respective missions and thrive. In this newsletter, we offer some tips and an invitation to give us a call to get this important effort going NOW!
August 2021 may be the BEST time to reactivate or launch your Planned Gifts program. In fact, we suggest that there have been few other moments in the past fifty years when a Planned Giving program had a greater chance of success than now
