Dear friends and music lovers,

Happy September!

It was lovely to see so many of you at the park last week. But please remind me to never play in 90 degree weather again!  I'm glad to know it nevertheless brought some joy to hear live music in such a beautiful setting.

I'm so excited to announce that St. Paul's Church in Brookline will now allow us to have an in-person concert. Therefore, we've decided to present this September's concert in St Paul's instead of the previously announced Congregation Kehillath Israel.

However, as we announced before, we will limit attendance to half the hall's capacity, and we will require a showing of vaccination cards, masks, and distanced seating. We hope that you will feel comfortable with these policies. (The concert will be video-recorded as well for later broadcast. to be announced).

Note we will not open future concerts for ticket sales just yet, nor are we selling subscriptions. We are taking it one concert at a time.

Please join us under one roof to hear our opening concert of Mendelssohn, Fauré, and Samuel Coleridge Taylor (description below).

SEPTEMBER 19,  5 pm:
YOUTH & EXPERIENCE

Fauré: Piano Trio, Mendelssohn: String Quintet in A (in a flute arr.) Samuel Coleridge Taylor: "Fantasiestucke"

Three masterworks of the chamber music repertoire, one written by a composer the end of his life (Fauré) & the other two when they were teenagers (Mendelssohn & Samuel Coleridge Taylor)

We are so pleased to welcome back Juliette Kang, Associate Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra (and one of our original Mistral members), as well as BSO cellist Owen Young, who makes a long-overdue return to the Mistral stage. Also performing will be Mistral favorites: violist Stephanie Fong, pianist Sophie Scolnik-Brower and violinist/violist Gabriela Diaz.

I am sorry to tell you that West Parish Church in Andover is still not allowing people into the sanctuary at this time, and no dates have been booked there yet for that reason. As soon as this changes, we will add Saturday performances in Andover.

If you subscribe to our YouTube channel, you will be notified when a new video goes live. We deeply miss our personal connection but are pleased to stay engaged with you in this way.
