It's time to give thanks.
Two hands with heart in sign of appreciation
More than a dinner of turkey and pumpkin pie, this time of year brings a moment to stop and reflect on all we've been given. In this incredible 18 months, it starts with thanks for good health — which few of us will ever take for granted again.

This appreciation is also for you, my dear readers. Thanks for being with me on this journey. However you celebrate — and wherever you call home — may this season be filled with goodness and gratitude.
Here's another digital postcard filled with 3 things related to Visual IP*. It's designed to quickly inform, then get you on your way. In each issue you'll find an inspiring quote, an image, and a link to an essay or resource.

* Visual IP (intellectual property) = proprietary frameworks, diagrams, and drawings based on your ideas, which help you explain, influence, and persuade

Quote

“Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.”

Thanksgiving infographic
This Thanksgiving infographic created by Wallethub is a (very) long vertical image that collects a wide variety of facts and statistics about this US holiday. These are rarely seen in print form any more. Online they are designed to keep people scrolling for extended time periods.

This one captures Thanksgiving history, dinner prep and meal stats (100K+ questions answered on the turkey hotline!), shopping trends, entertainment, travel and safety, and what people are grateful for. It's a broad collection of data intended to keep you lightly entertained.

If you choose this long scroll format for your own Visual IP, you must keep it engaging and enticing enough so that readers will want to keep scrolling. It's a balance of graphics, data, and visual pacing. Check it out and consider how you might adapt the format for your own uses.

TinEye: Reverse Image Search Tool

TinEye reverse search engine home page
Want to know where your profile photo, original artwork, or proprietary IP may be posted online — and perhaps used without your permission? Trying to find the original source for an image? A quick image search can help you with these tasks in seconds.

Most folks know how to do an image search on Google (if not, here's a primer). My fave resource for this week is TinEye, a reverse image search tool that is free for non-commercial use.

To use it, drag and drop an image to its home page search window, and the AI will match it against TinEye's index of more than 50 billion (!) images. Alternatively, you can upload an image or search by URL.

TinEye also offers browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera. No matter how you search, they do not add your images to their index. No registration is required to use the tool.
That wraps up another issue. Thanks to the readers who emailed me after my last issue — it's always great to hear from you.

If there are others you think might enjoy these types of ideas and resources, please forward this on.

Until next time: Make something happen,
Terri
