Bike-a-thon information

Good Afternoon FBC, Families,

This Sunday we have the bike-a-thon on during the Sunday service. What a great way to start the school holidays!

We would love for you all to be there and involved. It’s not too late to register your child for the Bike-a-thon. Just launch Church Center and click on church events, you will see Joy Ride there and that’s the place to register your details. This just allows us to make sure we can cater for all the children. If you would prefer, just email me on penny@fbc.nz and I can register your children for you. Please register by Friday this week.

If your child doesn’t like riding bikes or scooters, we would still love for them to join us, perhaps they might like to help on the drink station or hold a stop/ Go sign for the children biking or something else fun. Please send me an email or just grab me on the day if your child would prefer to do this.

If your child would like to bring a friend, please do! Just register them too.

What’s the plan for Sunday 2nd of October?

9.30am - If you child is going to be involved in the Bike-a-thon, please bring your bike or scooter, helmets etc to the church hall.

10am - Join us for church with all the children in the service

10.40am - Children will be called out to the hall to get their bikes ready

11am - Bike-a-thon Start time

The Bike-a-thon is just a fun way to raise money for the children in Kolkata, India. There will be a fun bike track set up in the church car park for the children to ride around. Josh has already invested in some liquid chalk! Rachel from the toy library has some fantastic road signs for us to use too .

We will let the younger children ride first and then they can ride some more on a track set up in the hall. Then the older children will ride. It is just a fun time for everyone to ride their bikes or scooters and be involved.

There will be a sausage sizzle and a drinks station set up for the children.

We are partnering with an organisation called Joyya to raise money to bring back the joy for children in Kolkata, India. If you or a family member or friend would like to donate to this cause, please just go to this givealittle page

Blessings
