Franklin Baptist Church

As indicated last week when the agenda for our upcoming AGM was published, below are the profiles for the three people that are being brought forward for appointment to the FBC Leadership Team (LT).

Nicole would be a new appointment to the team, and Faye and Esther are existing LT members.

NICOLE CAMACHO

My name is Nicole Camacho, I’m 22 years old, and have been a member of FBC since 2016. My beloved family include my parents, Den & Archie Camacho, and my siblings, Zachary Camacho, Synthea & Nathan Faleatua.

I have been serving on the worship team for over 2 and a half years, and have also been serving as a youth leader for over 3 years. I adore these ministries God has placed me in, putting the musical gifts He has given me to direct peoples’ eyes to Him, as well as being able to make every positive difference I can in young peoples’ lives through demonstrating Christ’s love. These are both passions that I hold very dear to my heart.

I studied at AUT where I graduated with a Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (Tourism & HR), and very recently submitted my thesis in completion of a Master of Business (Management). During such time, I was also employed in a few roles: one as a Research Assistant, and the other two as a Teaching Assistant and a Marking Assistant for two level 5 papers at AUT.

To even be nominated for such a position is a huge honour and privilege in itself. If it were God’s will for me to be placed in the Leadership Team as well, I pray that, whatever His plan for the church, He would use these gifts, passions, interpersonal skills, and education He has blessed me with to further His kingdom, His way.
FAYE SNOOK

I have a long history with this church having joined when approx 16 yrs of age and that’s a while ago! I give testimony to God’s wonderful provision over the years for us as a church as well as individually.

I strongly believe that the leadership team should reflect the diversity of the people who make up our congregation with regard to age, family groups, ethnicity, and experience as we bring our various giftings to the team in service to the Lord and to our church family.
I have been on the team for approx 10 yrs and considered stepping down this year, but I believe the Lord would have me continue. As we move forward after the disruptions of the past three years I believe the continuity of an excellent, stable leadership team is most important.

ESTHER CALLEY

I have been part of FBC for a number of years since emigrating from Scotland in 1994.  I joined FBC at that time, and then joined the FBC Leadership Team in 2002.  I am married to Steve (who has been at FBC even longer than me!) and we have a 9 year old son, Hamish.

Steve and I met when serving with Operation Mobilisation in London.  During that time we worked with Stockwell Baptist Church, supporting their ministry for 2 years.  During this time God gave me a real passion for the local church and the potential which it can have for transforming a community.  It is that same unwavering passion that serves as the foundation for my continuing involvement in the FBC Leadership team over the years, as well as being chairperson for our FBC Trust.

As we (hopefully) come out the other side of Covid, the mission of the Church is just as critical as it ever was, and I still feel strongly called to be a part of that here at FBC.
