Green Built Guide: April 2021

Share Your Projects and Expertise in 2021 Green Building Directory

We are starting the process of planning our 2021 Green Building Directory. With 25,000 copies distributed at 100 spots in Western North Carolina, this directory is a great way to share your company's offerings in the broader community and market your brand for high visibility in a targeted demographic.

We include listings for all members at the business level and higher, and there are several ways you can benefit from even more visibility in our latest issue publishing this summer.
  1. Contribute content. Each year, our directory is enriched with article features and case studies written by our members and about their projects. To be included, email story ideas to cari@greenbuilt.org ASAP. Content is due May 31.

  2. Place an ad or enhance your listing. Review ad ratesthen email hylah@smokymountainnews.com to reserve.

  3. Become a member. Whether you're joining for the first time or renewing after a lapse, there's no better time to become a member and benefit from all the related marketing exposure.

As our industry continues to expand, the annual Green Building Directory offers a unique opportunity to position your company for future growth and increase market share. Confirm your presence in our directory and help our nonprofit advance regional awareness of green building, sustainability and your company's services.

Led by Mary Love of Love the Green, this class teaches how to meet a clients' desire for green home features with factual information for value-added decisions.

2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 25:

Led by Amy Musser and Matthew Vande of Vandemusser Design, this course teaches what net-zero energy homes are and how to make them with commonplace building practices as well as emerging technologies.

Next month's two classes total four hours, which would fulfill half of the hours required annually by North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors, as well as being eligible for credit through American Institute of Architects and other trade groups.

Solarize Campaign Moves Into New Pricing Tiers

The Solarize Asheville-Buncombe campaign officially launched earlier this month, and is off to a great start. Due to the immense interest, we have already advanced through several pricing tiers and will be able to continue increasing affordability as more people sign on. Our website is a great resource where you can watch the launch event, enroll for a free evaluation and learn more about our Neighbor to Neighbor efforts to bring solar to limited-income homes.
