Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Last weekend, we joined over 100 community members at MacArthur Park for the 2nd Annual “Love My Community” Cleanup & Resource Fair—a day of action and support for our neighborhood. In partnership with the Westlake South, Westlake North, and Pico Union Neighborhood Councils, we worked to beautify the park and surrounding streets, ensuring our public spaces remain clean, welcoming, and accessible.
The day kicked off with a resource fair featuring over 30 community partners, connecting residents with vital services and information. We were honored to stand with State Senator María Elena Durazo, State Assemblymember Mark González, City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, and LAUSD Board Member Dr. Rocío Rivas, underscoring the importance of bringing together all levels of government to deliver real change.
With the help of our incredible volunteers, we cleaned major corridors around the park, including Alvarado Street, Wilshire Boulevard, 3rd Street, 6th Street, 8th Street, Park View Street, and James M. Wood Boulevard, clearing trash from sidewalks, curbs, and public spaces to make our streets safer and more inviting.
Our public spaces should never be an afterthought. That’s why we’re fighting for investments in public infrastructure, parks and recreation, and policies that prioritize the needs of each and every Angeleno.
Change happens when we combine direct action with real policy solutions, and we’re committed to doing both. Let’s keep building together.
In solidarity and gratitude,

Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez
