November 1, 2024

It was an immense pleasure to join The Village Family Services at their first annual Youth Summit. Alongside 150 service providers, advocates, and partners, this summit was focused on hearing from persons with lived experience and professional expertise about age-appropriate strategies to address the crisis of youth homelessness in our community.

The Village Family Services was founded in 1997 with the purpose of serving youth across Los Angeles, and over the years, they have expanded their focus to include ending youth homelessness by employing youth-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive services and compassionate care. I am grateful for their commitment to our community and for the chance to share my perspective on these subjects with attendees.

I'd also like to congratulate the Los Angeles Dodgers on winning the 2024 World Series Championship. Without a doubt, this World Series brought the people of Los Angeles together, and their triumph is a collective victory for all Angelenos. Go Dodgers today, tomorrow, and forever!
