A Year Of Progress And Partnership Building A #Better11
Check Out What We Did This Year!
When we work together as a community, we're unstoppable. From housing hundreds of people living on the streets to delivering major public safety initiatives, in 2024, we tackled some of the biggest challenges in Council District 11 with determination and heart. I'm proud of the major steps we took on the Westside, but I'm also fighting to get our City ready for the World Cup in 2026 and the Olympics in 2028. We're not taking a victory lap - no way, not yet. But, with your continued support and advocacy, we ARE moving Los Angeles in the right direction. Take a look back at some of what we did in 2024, and let's buckle up for 2025. We have so much more to do! Thank you for your trust in me and for being part of this journey!
#Better11 Holiday Party Brings Joy And Community Together!
Head To Our Flickr Page To See Highlights From Our Holiday Party!
Last weekend, we hosted our Second Annual #Better11 Holiday Celebration. Hundreds of friends and neighbors from across the Westside reunited to celebrate the season. From the smooth tunes of the Shai Golan Jazz Quartet to the beautiful voices of the St. Bernard’s High School holiday choir and the joy of Mariachi Arcoiris, the air was filled with festive music and delicious smells from the barbecue feast, masterfully grilled by our amazing LAFD firefighters.

Santa Claus himself, with a whole bunch of help from Captain Applegate and our friends at LAPD Pacific Division, made a special appearance for fans of all ages. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who worked so hard to make the celebration a success.
Team CD11 Updates For 2025
As we kick off a new year, I'm excited to announce some exciting updates to our CD11 team! Pete Brown will be our Communications Director, bringing a wealth of expertise to our outreach efforts. Sarah Flaherty has joined us as a Legislative Deputy, and Arus Grigoryan is stepping in as our new Pacific Palisades Field Deputy. Julio Torres will take on Special Projects and CalTrans matters and Martin Perez adds to our bench of Constituent Services Deputies. As we grow our team, our focus always remains on serving as your ally and advocate in City Hall.

Check out Venice Deputy Sean Silva's updates on a bunch of good Westside stuff, like improvements at Windward Plaza Park, storm prep in Brentwood Glen, and sand removal at Del Rey Lagoon. Does he ever sleep? From street sweeping to increased accessibility, we’re addressing the needs of our communities to keep them clean and safe. If you need assistance in your area, please contact our Westchester District Office.

CD11 Stands With Firefighters And Paramedics

This week, I had the privilege of joining Mayor Bass and our LAFD firefighters and paramedics to welcome the new UFLAC Board and celebrate our shared commitment to ensuring that our first responders have the staffing and resources they need to keep Los Angeles safe.

I also attended Fire Commission this week to talk about the challenges LAFD faces and the essential investment necessary to move our City forward. You can find my remarks here.

37th Annual Palisades Menorah Lighting

The 37th Annual Palisades Menorah Lighting was a celebration of community, faith, and tradition. The event featured performances, a special blessing by Rabbi Zushe, and a beautiful menorah lighting ceremony with honored guests, including Rick Caruso and District Attorney Nathan Hochman.
