January Leadership Team Update
Welcome to the first Leadership Team update for 2025. We trust that everyone has been able to enjoy a bit of a break over the Christmas/New year period.
We had our first meeting of the year this week, with some key agenda items being:
- Our areas of focus/priority for 2025
- The upcoming meeting on 23 February.
2025 areas of focus/priority
In our December Leadership Team Update we reiterated that part of Rachel’s role is to consider how FBC can be in the best place we possibly can when the time comes to call a new Pastor, and that she was working on a series of recommendations/focus areas for the rest of the Leadership Team to consider.
Over the coming weeks the LT has agreed to meet weekly so that we can spend some intensive time looking at these recommendations, and to involve the staff team in discussions too. Of course, we have already been working on the first of these areas which is the resumption of the pastoral search process. This is our priority focus area for February.
In relation to establishing the Search Team – many thanks to those who have put their names forward as willing participants. We have been receiving expressions of interest from people even as recently as last week, and now have 4 new people interested. We will be in touch very soon with those who are willing to serve on the team to explain a little more about what is involved in the work of a Search Team, exploring how each person’s skills/talents match the needs that we have, and then finalising the team (including who will chair it) before we set them to work!
Meeting on 23 Feb
You will recall from our December Leadership Team update that we are planning a meeting on 23 February after the service. We have decided to make this our first Church Family meeting of the year. To that end, we would like to call now for any General Business items that attendees may wish to raise. These can be sent to leaders@fbc.nz and we would like to receive these by Wednesday 12 February please.

- Pray for us as a Leadership Team as we seek God's direction in establishing a new Search Team.
