Dear Wild Whatcom supporter,

We know you face a constant barrage of 'content' online; taking time to read this email is a gift of your attention and consideration. Thanks for reading!

Today, we're giving you the first look at our 2023 Impact Report. This report reflects our programming, priorities, budget allocations, and partnerships for the fiscal year ending August 2023. Together, this past year, we:
  • Provided more then 50,000 nature hours to youth, families, and classrooms in our community

  • Explored with more than 3,000 participants

  • Reached over 1,200 public school students

  • Provided more than $69,000 in scholarships

  • Gave back more than 5,000 hours in service and stewardship

October outings to help you celebrate fall
The days are getting shorter - and chillier - but no one knows better how to frolic in the dark and the damp than Wild Whatcom! Come meet new friends, make new discoveries, and embrace the seasonal changes on these October outings:

MUSHROOM-MUSHROOM-MUSHROOM!

Wonder Walks - October Fungi Fun: Fridays, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11:30AM-1:00PM. Explore the importance of fungi for the entire ecosystem, and appreciate the beauty of the changing colors all around us. Adults 18+, low-grade, low barrier paths, accessible for most abilities.

Wild Things - October All Things Mushroom: Fridays, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, and Saturdays, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 9:30-11:00AM. Let's look for mushrooms, say goodbye to the birds migrating south, and explore a magical forest. For children ages 0-6, their adults, and siblings.

EMBRACE THE NIGHT!

Out and About: Costumed Night Prowl: Saturday, October 21, 5:00-7:00PM. Wear your best costume to explore at night and learn all about nocturnal creatures. Come ready to have fun in the darkness, make new friends, and appreciate all things spooky with other nature loving queer folks! Queer adults and allies 18+.

Ladies Night Out - Moon of Falling Leaves: Saturday, October 28, 4:30-7:00PM. Stories from our past give us ample room for reflection, learning, and gratitude. This month we're sharing stories of treasured loved ones (people and pets), as well as the natural history of our meeting place. Women 18+.
