CD1 California Climate Action Corps Fellows at their first tabling event!
Dear friends, fam, and allies,

This year, we are honored to be hosting four California Climate Action Corps Fellows to help us implement OrganicsLA - the City's new composting program. In an effort to reduce organic waste by 75% by 2050, LASAN expanded what is allowed to go in the green bin. Organic waste will now be diverted from landfills and turned into fertilizer used by California farmers. This is an important step towards achieving our climate goals since about one third of waste in our landfills is compostable!

We are looking for environment-minded people like you to volunteer with the Fellows to help distribute kitchen pails and encourage owners of multi-family buildings to sign up for a green bin before the City begins collecting fees in February 2024. CD1 Climate Action Fellows will come to your neighborhood in CD1 and host a tabling/canvassing event to distribute kitchen pails to divert food waste from landfills! More details will be provided once you sign up.
