Left Turn Phasing Signal at Chatsworth St. and Tampa Ave.

Council District 12, alongside our partners at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, recently completed the implementation of a left turn phasing signal at the intersection of Chatsworth St. and Tampa Ave. This improvement will greatly improve intersection safety and the flow of northbound and southbound traffic along Tampa Ave.

2024 EmpowerLA Youth Conference

Applications are officially open for the 2024 EmpowerLA Youth Conference, hosted by the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment! Young people between the ages of 14-17 from across Los Angeles are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity. EmpowerLA Youth Conference attendees will learn about the history and purpose of Neighborhood Councils, gain a deeper understanding of the laws and policies that govern neighborhood councils, hear from leaders in the City of Los Angeles, and more! LADWP’s My Water Insights

LADWP’s My Water Insights is a free home water management program designed to help customers better understand their water use through home water reports and a user-friendly online portal. The personalized reports break down daily usage in gallons and compares usage to other households in their neighborhood with similar characteristics. In each report, customers learn if their water use was Average or Efficient for the last billing period, as well as a score on their overall water efficiency. Customers can sign up to use the online portal for more detailed information about their water use history and how to increase conservation.

CSUN Porter Ranch Resiliency Survey

CSUN has put together a survey to understand the community’s view on the indicators students have been working on for the resilience planning process. Every year graduate students collaborate with a local community to prepare a resilience plan for that neighborhood. They have previously worked with the communities of Northridge, Chatsworth, Pacoima, Sylmar, North Hills East, and North Hills West. This year they are preparing a resilience plan for Porter Ranch. Take Action LA Community Grants

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) and CalMHSA are seeking mission-driven partners for May 2024 to enhance mental health awareness and well-being in the community. Grants will support diverse and innovative organizations in organizing events that align with LACDMH's Take Action LA for Mental Health campaign. These grants, ranging from $25,000 to $150,000, aim to promote mental health awareness, community connections, and a theme of taking action for oneself, others, and the community.

Microenterprise Recovery Grants

Applications for round 2 of the "Microenterprise Recovery” grant program are now open! Grants of up to $5,000 are available for eligible microenterprises in the City of LA that need financial assistance recovering from COVID-19. To apply visit: bit.ly/MicroenterpriseGrant. Project Care

The Los Angeles Department of Aging has brought back its Project Care initiative which aims to bring joy to older adults during the holiday season. The department seeks your assistance in helping them provide necessities during the festive months. All you have to do is either donate through Amazon or give a donation through PayPal and Project Care will do the rest.

• Traffic Advisory on Reseda from Parthenia St. to Victory Blvd.
  The Bureau of Street Services will be conducting work along Reseda Blvd for multiple weeks and work is scheduled to be completed on 12/6. Please look for alternative routes as traffic will be impacted.

• LA Sanitation and Environment’s Blanket and Sock Drive
  LA Sanitation and Environment is collecting new and gently used (washed and cleaned) blankets, sleeping bags, and socks. Donated items will be provided to the Livability Services Division of LA Sanitation and Environment, LA Mission, and the St. Francis Center.
