With the holiday season upon us, I reflect on the past year and how much we've accomplished together. Senior Theatre continues to bounce back from the pandemic. Yet, many of are still feeling uncertainty and stress due to current events. If you find yourself overwhelmed, first know that you're not alone. Second, remember that you have theatre as a creative outlet, a welcome escape from reality. Yours is a rare advantage in that you can transport actors and audience members to an imaginary space and time. Best of all, when you engage in Senior Theatre, you build connections in your community, spark conversations, and provide a shared experience. Lucky you!
There are many ways you can explore Senior Theatre in the next few weeks. Here are just a few:
- Get together with your Senior Theatre friends for a celebration
- Read plays and decide what you will produce next year
- Plan classes so that your group starts off the New Year with a flurry of activity
Rest assured knowing that we are here to help you along the way with all of your Senior Theatre needs! It is a privilege for us to bring Senior Theatre to you, so that you can share it with others. Thank you.

Ageless! 11 Short Plays Celebrating Seniors
These eleven award-winning 10 minute plays are ones you will use over and over again. They feature today’s seniors who are active, engaged and living with a new outlook on life, one that reflects the positive aspects of aging.
Ten Plays Without Boundaries
This is a great collection if you are interested in exploring some original works that will be sure to spark conversations with your actors and audiences! In writing these plays, best-selling Senior Theatre playwright Arthur Keyser pushed himself to "raise the stakes" by exploring topics and themes outside of the comfortable boundaries of his previous works. His settings span from present day County Cork to 431 BCE Greece, but connecting them all is at least a hint of the darker side of human nature. Are you ready to raise the stakes with your Senior Theatre group?

A few things to note:
- The ArtAge Senior Theatre Resource collection spans everything from short skits to full-length musicals. However, our most popular shows are short comedies featuring casts of mainly women; holiday shows are always in demand.
- We require hard copies. Not only does this protect your intellectual property, it's easier for our reviewers to read printed documents.
