Festive Cheer

For us at ArtAge the Festive Season is all year long! It's the joy of working with directors, actors, playwrights, and other Senior Theatre lovers who regularly tell us how much they appreciate our work. It's the pleasure of hearing about successful productions and full houses! It's the new director who told me today, "Senior Theatre is changing my life."

Together we create more opportunities for older performers and, as a result, make the world a better place!

Have a great holiday and a super New Year!

Yours in Theatre,

Bonnie L. Vorenberg
President, ArtAge Publications' Senior Theatre Resource Center

Hot off the Press

"Rock On"

One of the first shows added to the ArtAge collection from our recent search for new plays is ready for you!

Rock On!
1 man, 2 women, 25 minutes
Two women decide to take flight from their normal safe retired life to pursue adventures they've always been too fearful to try.

Save $5 on this digital perusal script until January 10, 2024.

Only $10!
We selected this play because it reminds us to get out of our ruts so we can live fuller lives. Its strong message is couched in a quick, funny, flexible, and easily staged show. Your audiences will love Val and Leona!

The first company to send us a high-quality production photo of Rock On! will receive a $15 credit.

We're delighted when we hear from people like Michael P. (photo right) who told us, "I am still excited about tonight’s performance and wanted to let you know that our shows were 'Over the Moon!' We had scenery, costumes, confetti cannons, and a great sound system made possible by a successful fund raiser. We have come so far in only one year. You’ve been a huge help. Thank you!"

Or people like Susie and DeLeon (photo above during an ArtAge online performance) who shared, "We will always remember how working with you provided us some of the happiest times in our lives."

Our Plays are Being Performed!

A few of our shows on stage recently.

In addition to a wide variety of holiday shows that put audiences in a merry holiday spirit, these are some of the other shows that were staged.
Director Sherri M. shared with us the above photo of Side Effects, exclaiming, "It's always a crowd pleaser!" If you'd like to delight your audiences, you'll find this show in Drena Heizer's best-selling collection, Age on Stage ®: Comedies for Readers Theatre Volume I.

In New Jersey, audiences are still chuckling about the use of Matzo Balls in a lawn bowling contest.

Women in the Perfect Petunias Garden Club became the Bingo Ladies Gone Bad much to the audience's delight in Georgia.

In Colorado, a group staged a show featuring 5 short plays all set on a park bench. In Griddle Cakes (above), Martha and Jessie, two sisters, discuss the merits of going on the annual wildflower walk.

See all the Park Bench plays!
While in The Great GG Gang, a couple debates whether or not they should go ahead with their plans to become a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.

Audience members loved all five shows, remarking, "I didn't know so many different scenes could be put together, with something as simple as TWO chairs!"
In Florida, audiences went home laughing at Vera's brilliant plan to get her husband off the couch and into a different retirement community after watching Making a Move. The director told us, "This show has everything you want in a funny play. The audience roared with laughter!"

While in North Carolina, Lunch with Eddie was a huge hit, with strong characters, action, and a lot of humor. Find the play in Drena Heizer's other best-seller, Age on Stage ®: Comedies for Readers Theatre Volume II.

Stay Tuned!
