Rapid Response Senior Meals Program

The Rapid Response Senior Meals Program (RRSMP) addresses the nutritional needs of City residents aged 60 years and above who are experiencing food insecurity and who may be frail. This program will serve five nutritious, home-delivered meals weekly to older adults who may be unable or reluctant to return to congregate meal sites at this point because of health concerns. This nutrition program not only addresses immediate food needs, but also connects recipients to a range of supportive services through our Multipurpose Senior Centers that ideally lead to improved physical, mental, and social health outcomes for our city's senior population.

For those interested in participating in the RRSMP, we have simplified the application process. Seniors, their representatives, or your staff can contact the RRSMP by:

2024 Homeless Count

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is the annual census that counts the number of people experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Through the Count, we’re better able to direct and advocate for vital services for unhoused individuals. The Count is coming up, taking place January 23-25, 2024. Metro Bus Changes

Beginning December 10th, Metro is making changes to bus and rail services to provide more frequent and reliable trips for riders. A, C, E, and K Lines will see an increase in frequency and adjustments to 37 weekdays, 29 Saturday and 24 Sunday bus schedules have been made to improve reliability. 2024 EmpowerLA Youth Conference

Applications are officially open for the 2024 EmpowerLA Youth Conference, hosted by the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment! Young people between the ages of 14-17 from across Los Angeles are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity. EmpowerLA Youth Conference attendees will learn about the history and purpose of Neighborhood Councils, gain a deeper understanding of the laws and policies that govern neighborhood councils, hear from leaders in the City of Los Angeles, and more! LADWP’s My Water Insights

LADWP’s My Water Insights is a free home water management program designed to help customers better understand their water use through home water reports and a user-friendly online portal. The personalized reports break down daily usage in gallons and compares usage to other households in their neighborhood with similar characteristics. In each report, customers learn if their water use was Average or Efficient for the last billing period, as well as a score on their overall water efficiency. Customers can sign up to use the online portal for more detailed information about their water use history and how to increase conservation.

Project Care

The Los Angeles Department of Aging has brought back its Project Care initiative which aims to bring joy to older adults during the holiday season. The department seeks your assistance in helping them provide necessities during the festive months. All you have to do is either donate through Amazon or give a donation through PayPal and Project Care will do the rest.

  LA Sanitation and Environment is collecting new and gently used (washed and cleaned) blankets, sleeping bags, and socks. Donated items will be provided to the Livability Services Division of LA Sanitation and Environment, LA Mission, and the St. Francis Center
