As we begin the new year, I am optimistic about the opportunities our district has to continue building on the work of the previous year. Throughout 2023, I have focused my efforts on delivering services to our community and making sure that our neighborhoods have a voice at City Hall. Together, we have made strides in maintaining and improving our community’s infrastructure, ensured our first responders continue to have the resources necessary to protect our community, and fought back against well-intentioned policies that often come with unintended consequences.

With a new year comes new opportunities to continue tackling some of our most difficult challenges head on. I look forward to seeing you in the community in 2024!

CD12 COMMUNITY UPDATES

Rapid Response Senior Meals Program

The Rapid Response Senior Meals Program (RRSMP) addresses the nutritional needs of City residents aged 60 years and above who are experiencing food insecurity and who may be frail. This program will serve five nutritious, home-delivered meals weekly to older adults who may be unable or reluctant to return to congregate meal sites at this point because of health concerns. This nutrition program not only addresses immediate food needs, but also connects recipients to a range of supportive services through our Multipurpose Senior Centers that ideally lead to improved physical, mental, and social health outcomes for our city's senior population.

For those interested in participating in the RRSMP, we have simplified the application process. Seniors, their representatives, or your staff can contact the RRSMP by:

2024 Homeless Count

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is the annual census that counts the number of people experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Through the Count, we’re better able to direct and advocate for vital services for unhoused individuals. The Count is coming up, taking place January 23-25, 2024. Mid-Valley Regional Branch Library Adoption Event
Join LA Animal Services staff and volunteers every first Saturday of the month from 11am - 2pm at the Mid-Valley Regional Branch Library to meet some of our adoptable dogs! Adoption fees for all dogs will be reduced (excluding the $20 licensing fee for LA City residents).
Police Officer Recruitment Incentive Program
