Recently I have had the pleasure of connecting with various organizations to discuss subjects that are uniquely important to their missions and efforts.

The Chatsworth Community Coordinating Council is an organization that is relentless in its pursuit of ensuring that Chatsworth remains the incredible community that it is today. As is tradition, I had the pleasure of joining them at their first meeting of the year to share updates on various Chatsworth-centric projects and issues. I thank the Chatsworth Community Coordinating Council for their dedication to the community and their ongoing partnership with me and my office!

Additionally, I also joined the North Valley Regional Chamber for the installation of their newest board members. As someone who continues to focus on ensuring that Council District 12 remains a magnet for small businesses, I am always honored to collaborate with organizations like the North Valley Regional Chamber who do the important work of supporting new and legacy businesses alike. I congratulate the new board and look forward to another year of success for the organization and its members.

As we approach California's primary election, it remains imperative that as many people as possible participate in the upcoming election. I was recently invited to participate in the 'Tu Voto, Tu Voz, Tu Vida!' campaign, an initiative that works to promote civic engagement and aims to bring up the number of people who participate in our electoral process. A slightly surreal experience, I was able to share that message on two popular radio broadcast stations, 95.5 KLOS and KDAY 93.5. If you'd like to learn more about this campaign please click here. LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

L.A. law enforcement officials release 2023 crime statistics report

Automated License Plate Readers

In response to the increase in property crimes seen across the city, and acutely in parts of Council District 12, I introduced a motion instructing the Los Angeles Police Department, the Bureau of Street Lighting, and the Department of Transportation to begin the process of installing Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) in our community.

ALPRs can help narrow the search for vehicles tied to crimes by allowing law enforcement agencies to see patterns of behavior in the incoming and outgoing traffic of a particular neighborhood or area.
