The Future is Now

The future is not something new. It is already here; everything is contained in the eternal now or golden present.  It’s like a river flowing—we only see a
section of time that is present to us. There’s no direction, no space, no
limitations—there is no time. It’s all one, eternal NOW.

Understanding the Ego
By Sri Swami Satchidananda

God or Infinite Consciousness is That through which our own egos move. Unfortunately, the ego tends to overlook the fact that its capacity to function is from that Source, and instead it comes up with the notion that I am doing everything by myself. But it would be a sad mistake if anyone thought we had to destroy the ego. Nothing—good or bad—is possible without the ego, but it should learn to accept its place. Eastern sages have compared the ego to a puppet...  MORE

In the last ten years my work has been made much easier by the progress made in the fields of Neuroscience and Epigenetics. Following a great deal of scientific experimentation, significant evidence has materialized to show how the brain works and how meditation practices can help rewire our thinking process. MRIs taken before meditation and after meditation have clearly shown how the areas of the brain that deal with emotions have become relaxed, and literally light up.  MORE
On January 22, 2024, the long awaited return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya, India was realized with the inauguration of the Ram Mandir by Prime Minister Modi. Pūrnam, the single noun in the verse, is a beautiful Sanskrit word which means completely filled—a filled-ness.  MORE

Huddled inside my heaviest winter coat at the edge of a pond, I watched as my coffee steam merged with misty clouds of my breath. At dawn the cranberry bog in coastal Massachusetts was an expanse of frozen sand and wiry tangles of russet vines; old snow scudded across the fields and collected in thin drifts at the pond’s edge. My dog, Zoë, a diminutive yet feisty Doberman Pinscher, ran sprints on the frozen path. I still felt the inner warmth of my morning meditationMORE
