Welcome to the Connection Corner
Connection Corner is our weekly publication bringing you insight and information so that we can stay connected.

Inspire '24
Last Saturday we had our Inspire day. A time for those who serve in the life of the church and beyond to come and be encouraged and inspired for ministry.

We spent some time talking through the focus of this year. The theme of the wind and how the Holy Spirit moves us. John 3:8  "The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” We are called both personally and collectively as the church to be moved by the spirit. The analogy of the boat and its sails is a great image that we get to use to help us understand. "We cannot control the direction of the wind, but we can adjust the sails." This quote has been part of stage display during our last series.

Church Center App. We got to spend time with Den discovering some of the ins and outs of our Church app, it is a powerful tool to help us stay connected. We recommend downloading it and discovering all it has. During the day an elder member downloaded the app but couldn't get it working. One of our younger members came along side them to help get them connected. Intergeneration moments at their best.

Communication. We talked through some of our communication strategies and how we endevour to be better communicators. Our dream is to support ministries to have good communication plans and will help and support to create these where needed. Information is powerful, when it is communicated the right way. Please continue to be patient with us as we grow in this area together.

Lastly we reflected on Isaiah 54 and what it means for us personally and for our church community. I encourage you to sit with this verse. Meditate on it, and if you feel led to, send through to us what God has been revealing to you as we continue to discern the voice of God together for Franklin Baptist Church. You can send this to info@fbc.nz.

Staff Retreat Day
Today the staff of Franklin Baptist Church went on a retreat. The purpose of this retreat was to sit with Jesus and listen to Him. It was a time to focus in on our own spiritual health in an intentional space, together. We were led well through reflective and contemplative activities which allowed us to press into Jesus. It was refreshing and life giving for all involved.
My question to you is, do you need to sit and just be with God? To turn off the distractions around you and really press into His presence? I encourage you to make time for this. Even just 20 mins where you get to reflect on the goodness of God and be in His presence. There you will find peace, joy, comfort and rest.

Thank you for reading our Connection Corner. We hope this communication will help to connect us together as a congregation.
