February 16, 2024 | | Love was in the air this week and nowhere was it felt more than at the West Hills Neighborhood Council Senior Valentine’s Day Dance! This classic West Hills tradition invites local seniors for a night of food, fun, and dare I say, romance. With well over 100 community members in attendance, this event once again proved to be a community favorite and one that spreads joy to all. | | As part of my continued focus on public safety, my office and our city partners continue working around the clock to address encampments across Council District 12.
This week, we successfully removed 8 non-operational RVs, offered services and resources to all who were living there, and cleaned along Deering and Eton. We will continue working to bring safe and clean streets for all. | | This week also marked the 25th anniversary of the North Valley YMCA, an organization that is deeply meaningful to me and continues to be of great importance to the Council District 12 community. For so many years, this YMCA has been providing critical resources to families through various initiatives that help grow healthy children and families. Their success remains key for our neighborhoods and I look forward to even greater heights for the organization over the next 25 years. | | | CD12 COMMUNITY UPDATES | | City of LA Legacy Business ProgramThe City of Los Angeles is proud to launch the Legacy Business Program, an ongoing initiative to celebrate and support the visibility and sustainability of long-standing Legacy Businesses with tangible benefits, including technical assistance, promotional support, and access to grants and loans.
