41.18 Helps Restore Safety And Access For Everyone
CLICK HERE FOR MY STATEMENT REGARDING THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF 41.18 ON DISTRICT 11

Thank you to the many Westside residents who attended the LAHSA Commission hearing last week. Here on the Westside, as we conduct encampment interventions to move people off the streets, communities across the district benefit from restored, safe access to our shared public spaces and sensitive areas. As a Council Office, we are taking a balanced approach to addressing homelessness and working every day to make long-term changes that will help our City out of this crisis.

Restoring The Braude Bike Path

Last May, we were really excited when the County opened the portion of the Marvin Braude bike and pedestrian path connecting Santa Monica to Pacific Palisades. Unfortunately, during a recent storm, the newly constructed portion at Will Rogers State Beach collapsed, closing this section to cyclists and pedestrians.

Although the city did not build this bridge, I want to make sure things are moving quickly. That's why I introduced a motion asking our City departments to report on the damage and repair efforts so the trail can be reopened for public use. We will continue to keep you updated as things move forward.
