Happy Earth and Volunteer Month! We are more than half way through our fellowship term and we are enjoying the neighborhoods blooming with lush flora and fruits from the rains! So fulfilling to see sustainability with home grown fruits and veggie gardens.  Keep it up Los Angeles!

Join us for OrganicsLA Pail Canvassing weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout CD1. We also distribute at local community events – check out our Sign-Up Genius for upcoming dates! Have fun in the sun, get to know your neighbors, and make new friends while helping us reach our 10K pail goal!

Volunteer Socials / Reunión Social de Voluntarios

We held our first ever Volunteer Social at the Highland Park Farmers’ Market on Jan. 23 and Part 2 on Feb. 27. It was so much fun enjoying home-baked goods and refreshments while getting to know CD1 volunteers better and learning what makes YOU excited to serve! This is going to be an ongoing event – keep an eye out for our future volunteer socials at different farmers’ markets throughout the district.  If there's a happening Farmers' Market near you, let us know and we can look into setting up a social near you!
 

Celebramos nuestra primera reunión social de voluntarios en el Farmers' Market de Highland Park el 23 de enero y el segundo social el 27 de febrero. Fue muy divertido disfrutar de los refrigerios. Conocimos mejor a los voluntarios de CD1 y aprendimos porque USTEDES se emocionan de servir! Este será un evento continuo; así que tome nota de nuestras futuras reuniones sociales. Si hay un Farmers' Market cerca de usted, déjenos saber y podremos considerar la posibilidad de establecer un evento social cerca de usted!

Schools and Community Organization Outreach

The Fellows are proud to have completed two school collaborations, this time with CalCreative Learning Academy & LASan on Feb. 15 and Wildwoods School on April 19. We presented to parents, teachers and stakeholders updates on SB1383, education on OrganicsLA, as well as an opportunity to receive their kitchen food waste compost pails. 

If you would like to have the Fellows present the OrganicsLA program and SB1383 updates to your school, community group or business in CD1 OR if you would like the Fellows to table at your community event, just fill out this form, indicate your school or organization in the “Anything else?” box and we’ll connect with you to set it up!  
 

Las Becarias están orgullosas de haber completado dos colaboraciones escolares, esta vez con CalCreative Learning Academy y LASAN el 15 de febrero y en Wildwoods School en el 19 de abril. Presentamos a los padres y maestros sobre SB1383 y el programa de reciclaje OrganicsLA, y dando la oportunidad de recibir su cubeta para los desechos de alimentos.
