Welcome to the Connection Corner
Connection Corner is our weekly publication bringing you insight and information so that we can stay connected.

Preaching Series | I Am: Jesus in His Own Words

Big Idea of the Series: This seven-week series explores the seven “I Am” statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John. Each “I Am” declaration illustrates a specific revelation of Jesus’s character and testifies to his divinity. Also, each of the “I Am” announcements reveal our spiritual needs and how Jesus perfectly meets each and every one.

If you and/or your life group would like to explore Sundays messages a little more, each week we will post the next week's small group questions here. I Am the good Shepherd small group guide. For next week I Am the bread of life small group guide.

The "Zion" cult
As a church, we want to remind you about a cult that is having a damaging effect in our nation. We have been made aware of recent accounts of how this cult has been seeking to influence a few individuals in our own church and community. Sometimes people involved in this cult will approach people on the streets, go door knocking or come into a church.
We need to be aware of the damaging nature of this cult, sometimes known as "Zion Christian Mission Centre", "Zion Church / Bible study" or "Shincheonji".
It begins as a friendly Bible study, but becomes a very forceful and manipulative distortion of truth. We've attached an important letter and information from another Baptist pastor who has had to navigate this.  Please take time to read, and to keep this on the radar for yourself, family members and other Christians.
Please let us know if you'd like to discuss this. It is important to understand that there is no need to feel embarrassed if you have been affected by this group, as they are very deceptive in the way they operate and portray themselves. Please also pray about this situation, for the church of our nation, and for opportunities to share the gospel truth of Jesus Christ.

FBC Toy Library Fundraiser
The Toy Library has an opportunity to fundraise some much needed funds to support its work in our community. Each year the Modern School of Music runs their competitions at FBC. This year it is happening on Friday 7th & Saturday 8th June
The Toy Library is running the cafe for this event. It is our main fundraiser for the year.
We need some help:
1. Volunteers to help serve in the cafe. Roster based.
2. Those who can make barista coffee
3. Baking
If this sounds like you and you can help out in any way please talk to Leanna or email her at jaycadecorby@gmail.com

Thank you for reading our Connection Corner. We hope this communication will help to connect us together as a congregation.

Sunday 19 May - "I am the Bread of Life"  -  Josh v

John 6:35  Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry. He who puts his trust in Me will never be thirsty.

Lets discover together the I am Statements of Jesus. Jesus says, “I am the Bread of Life”; he alone sustains us spiritually. We must continually come to Jesus and partake of him as our Bread of Life.  I Am the bread of life small group guide.
