 Annual Hope For Firefighters Day
Originating in 1998 after a tragic helicopter crash claimed the lives of three L.A. City Firefighters, Hope For Firefighters is the largest firefighter event in the nation, benefitting the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association’s Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund. The food provided by more than 25 fire stations, live music, and activities make it one of my favorite days of the year, but the day is also a somber reminder of the sacrifices our first responders and their families make every day to keep us safe. For more images from the event, visit my Flickr page.

I want to thank Channel 35's production team for covering our Pride kickoff event at City Hall last week. We launched our "Reach for Your Dreams" gallery exhibit, had an amazing performance by Mariachi Arcoiris during Council, and enjoyed a fantastic luncheon from QQ Cafe. It's my second year chairing our city's LGBT Heritage & Pride Month festivities, and partnering with the Department of Cultural Affairs made it even more special.

Click Here To View The Realigned Lanes On PCH
I am glad to report that our partners at CalTrans have completed the realignment of lanes on the PCH north of Sunset Boulevard to ensure a smooth and safe flow of traffic following the mudslide at Tramonto. While this will help keep your coast up the coast less backed up by traffic, make sure to drive through this area with caution, watch for bicyclists, and note the posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour!
 Brentwood Tree Stump Removal
During the historic rainstorms, a few trees in Brentwood collapsed onto the street and broke utility poles. DWP and StreetsLA cleaned the street and restored power, but unfortunately, the stumps were not removed. Once a neighbor alerted our office, we coordinated service for this site, and the stumps were removed on Thursday.
