Paris To LA: Our Olympic Future
Paris is not Los Angeles, but the insights we gained in Paris last week - from transportation systems and volunteer coordination to venue management and marketing strategies - will guide us as we prepare for the 2028 Games. It was an honor to stand alongside Mayor Karen Bass as she received the Olympic flag from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, officially kicking off the countdown to the LA Games! With these experiences, we’re committed to ensuring that Los Angeles is ready to excel on the world stage in 2028.
Supporting Local Film And TV Production
Between COVID-19 and lengthy labor strikes last summer, the entertainment economy has struggled greatly these last few years. Film and television production remains 20% below pre-pandemic levels, and we are seeing the lowest employment rates in three decades. Mayor Bass has now convened an Entertainment Industry Cabinet and issued Executive Directive No. 8 to streamline City processes for local film and television production. With so many Westsiders impacted by job loss, I am keeping a close eye on these developments and grateful to the Mayor for her work on this issue.

National Night Out In CD11
It was so much fun connecting with our public safety partners and neighbors from across the Westside during this year’s National Night Out! A huge thanks to the Community Police Advisory Board (C-PAB) for their outstanding work in hosting this event and bringing us all together. These gatherings are more than just an opportunity to meet and greet - they’re a powerful reminder of the importance of uniting as a community to build safer, stronger neighborhoods for everyone.
Cosmos Gakuin Students And Educators Visit City Hall
I was so excited to welcome students, parents and educators of Cosmos Gakuin Japanese School to our Los Angeles City Council this week. Based in Sawtelle Japantown, Cosmos Gakuin focuses on Japanese language and culture, and it was my pleasure to meet these future leaders of CD11!
For this week’s Park's Pick, I’m excited to highlight All Roads, a brand-new eatery that just opened in Brentwood. This Roman-inspired spot, created by the same folks behind Toscana on San Vicente, is already becoming a staple in our community. With their innovative approach to dishes like the crispy, light pinsa and delicious suppli, they’re bringing a fresh twist to the local dining scene. Welcome to the neighborhood, All Roads! We’re thrilled to have you as part of the CD11 community.
