Welcome to the Connection Corner
Various things happening in my life in the last few days and weeks led me to pondering and meditating on this reminder in Ecclesiastes 3:1: "There is an appointed time for everything, and there is a time for every event under heaven".
Whenever we think things are not going our way, or something unexpected happens, instead of sulking or asking, "why", maybe stop and thank God that He is in control of our lives and He sees the bigger picture. I am so grateful for this reassurance!
Events Calendar
All the details of events coming up are in our events calendar so please do read it.
Please click here.
If you have something to go into the events calendar please send them to carol@fbc.nz by the 20th of each month.
Pause and Pray
Let's continue to pause and pray, using the example Jesus gave us:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:9-13 KJV
Coming up this Sunday
This Sunday we are blessed to witness the baptisms of Kelly, Telisa, Morris and April.
Erin Temu will bring the word on baptism, why we get baptised and what it means.
Please cover our brothers and sisters who are being baptised in prayer in the days leading up to, and following, their baptisms. If you have a word for them, please bring that along on Sunday and encourage them in this step of obedience they're taking.
Livestream
The audio quality of our online livestream services has been challenging at the best of times over that least few months. We have heard you and we are in the process of trying to work out a solution. Please bear with us as we look at upgrading or doing something different to improve this side of our service. We will keep you updated on the progress.
Join us at 10AM in-person or online. We would love to have you join us online for the service if you are not able or unwell. Please contact us if you need support info@fbc.nz
Be encouraged,
Sandra

We would love to make this a special service so we wondered if you could help us. We are needing food to share on the tables during the 22nd September service. If possible please drop wrapped packets of biscuits/lollies/chocolates or fresh fruit to the office by Wednesday, 18th September or we would welcome fresh baking on the day. Thanks so much.

The Baptist NZ app
Have you heard about Baptist NZ’s new app? It’s a hub for churches across NZ to connect, encourage and resource one another through the sharing of stories, articles, podcasts and news throughout the week. The app replaces the printed Baptist magazine, creating more opportunities for our whānau throughout the country to access and take part in stories of gospel renewal in Aotearoa. This app begins a brand-new chapter in the 146-year history of New Zealand Baptists connecting.
Read more about the app and how to download it here. There is also an option to sign up to a printable email version of Baptist NZ news every two months.
