September 6, 2024

It’s obvious that the current heatwave we are experiencing is no joke. Staying inside, hydrated, and cool is your best bet to overcome these sustained high temperatures but for those who need to find respite, please remember that Los Angeles has multiple cooling centers you can visit to escape the heat. Recreation centers and public libraries serve as cooling centers for Angelenos and because of the heat, some are currently operating with extended hours.

Please see the images for information on where you can head to stay cool and safe from the sun.

I once again had the pleasure of joining my City Council colleagues at the Greater SFV Chamber of Commerce’s Annual State of Valley Luncheon to participate in a discussion about the present and future of the San Fernando Valley.

Moderated by Alex Cohen of Spectrum News 1, this panel conversation was robust and touched on the subjects that are most important to Valley businesses and residents, including homelessness, ways to support local businesses, and ensuring our city is fully ready to host major world events in the coming years. The San Fernando Valley is a major economic engine for the city and region, and regardless of any challenges we face, is always full of promise, possibilities and potential.
