The Los Angeles City Council has been instrumental in propelling Los Angeles forward and has made significant progress in enhancing the lives of Angelenos, particularly over the past two years. This week, Council President Paul Krekorian, who led the Council for the past two years officially stepped down, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the legislative body. I appreciate Council President Krekorian's leadership during challenging times for the city and his extensive efforts to improve our city.

I am also delighted to welcome the new Council President, Marqueece Harris-Dawson. Council President Harris-Dawson will undoubtedly continue to lead our city with practicality and an inclusive perspective that benefits all Angelenos throughout the city.

My office has heard numerous complaints from residents near the Browns Creek Bridle Path, and I’m happy to announce that through a coordinated effort with LAPD, we were able to successfully conduct an operation that addressed the crimes taking place at this location.

We will continue to monitor the situation at the bridle path to maintain cleanliness and public access.

On a celebratory note, I was delighted to celebrate the Los Angeles Korean Festival Foundation’s 51st anniversary this past week. The Los Angeles Korean Festival serves as an opportunity for everyone to experience Korea's rich culture and help pass on the unique heritage and traditions to future generations. I have fond memories of attending this event with my mother when I was a child, and it allowed me to experience Korean culture firsthand.

Cheers to many more years of the LA Korean Festival!

I also had the honor of joining CASA of Los Angeles’ Women of City Hall event to recognize the all-women Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for the impact they are having on Los Angeles.

By celebrating their achievements, I hope we can inspire a new generation to dream bigger, reach higher, and believe that they too, can shape the future.
