For the Kids this Week...  
Kia ora kids and welcome to term four!    We hope you have had a great holiday and are looking forward to the term ahead.  This week we are starting a cliffhanger series about grit and determination, looking at people of God who didn't give up when things got hard.
Whānau Worship
Our last Whānau Worship Night of the year is happening this Sunday, 16th of October. It will start at 7pm in the Cafe. This evening is a relaxed, creative space to meet with God. Come as you are, ready to be refreshed by our loving God.
Chinese Alpha Course

This is an exciting new programme!!! Alpha NZ are introducing an Alpha course in the Chinese language (with English subtitles). The launch of the Chinese Alpha course starts Friday 21st October in the church cafe from 10.30am to noon followed by a light buffet.
Please invite your family and friends to join Jackie and Sally for this exciting new venture.

Barn Dance
It’s nearly time for the Barn Dance!  If you haven’t managed to get your tickets yet, there will be door sales on Saturday night (15th October)6:30pm - 8:30pm. So grab your friends and family and come along for some fun & fellowship. Tickets are available for all: 5+ under: Free. $5 per person, $20 for family of 5, $25 for families of more than 5. Or you can pay ahead using this link (choose barn dance on the dropdown) and pick up your tickets in the info desk. JoyRide for Joyya Update
A huge thank you to everyone who was involved last weekend with the Joy Ride for Joyya.  It was a lovely to see our tamariki out riding and our spectators enjoying cheering them on.  Thank you to everyone who has given to support our fundraising for the programs that Joyya runs with kids in West Bengal, India.  We have currently raised just over $2000!  Wouldn’t it be great to see that number go even higher!  You can still head over to our give a little page to give online here.  The Joy Ride continues throughout the rest of the month, you can continue to set your own goals at home and raise more funds!  Kai pai tau mahi (Good work!)
Baptist Hui and Missions Day  
Our next Baptist Hui will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church in the first week of November.  Here’s a link if you’re interested in learning more about it.  https://hui.baptist.nz  There is also info and registration details for the Baptist Mission Day on Wednesday 2nd November.  It’s $20, open to all and it would be great to have a few representatives from Franklin Baptist Church there https://hui.baptist.nz/whats-happening/mission-day/.
Lunch with the Murray's
Alan, Fiona, Abigail & Ethan will be at FBC this Sunday 16th October. Join us for an update on the 3H International School and to learn more about the Murrays Missions journey.  Please bring some food to share, 12pm at the Café. (GAT Team).
Update from Tim
I’ll be away over the next few weeks until Tuesday 25th October. This includes time with family and also time at a block course for professional development, as I upskill in mentoring other leaders. Next week, during the school holidays, a few others on the staff team will have some days away or adjusted hours.  The best way to contact someone next week is to email staff@franklinbaptist.org.nz and someone from the staff team will get back to you. 
Christmas Craft Market

High Tea/Picnic for Friends, Fun and Fundraising
Saturday 19th November 2 - 4.30pm Set in Caldwell’s beautiful garden in Karaka with High tea and live music. Tickets soon available. $45 a double or $25 single. Diary the date and watch and listen for more details.
