Staff at Merermere playground opening

New playground alert!

Sausages, scooters and serious fun were all on the agenda in Meremere last week when the community gathered to celebrate the village's new playground.

Mayor Jacqui Church, Chief Executive Gavin Ion and project team members were there too, as a free sausage sizzle was served up to the kids and whaanau.

Horsham Downs Link Road is now officially open

Connecting Horsham Downs to the Hamilton section of the Waikato expressway.

The cycleway alongside it connects our communities through to the Resolution Drive extension pathway into Hamilton and allows pedestrian access to the interchange artworks.

If you are a livestock owner, remember to check your fencing to ensure it can keep the flock from escaping.

Upgraded carpark

Ohinewai carpark upgrade

Check out the upgraded Ohinewai Hall car park!

Our Community Projects team and partners Waikato District Alliance have been busy upgrading car parks around the district.

The work on this carpark included a deep sweep and site tidy-up, adjusting the grades to ensure no more sitting water plus seal and line marking with speed humps.

Pound pups pink walk

Pink walk a success

A big thank you to those who came along to the Pound Pup's Pink Walk at Lake Kainui! Together we raised just over $400 for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ 💗

Unfortunately, the Pound Pup's Pink Playdate postponed due to rain and will now take place Sunday 27 November at 1.30am. Check out the event details here.
