Whānau News: 2 December
The Peace of Christ / Tim Palmer
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. COL 3:15-17  Join us at 10AM in-person or online.
For the Kids this Week...
Wonder Kids (Preschool aged). This week we are continuing with our pajama party theme looking at: Why is Jesus special? because Jesus is God's son.
Discovery Kids and Explorers (Primary aged). This week we continue our focus to Christmas as we look at the "Big Give."  We can get wrapped up in a lot of things at Christmas. But the real reason we celebrate is that God gave us the greatest gift in Jesus.
FBI (Intermediate aged).  This week we are continuing our three-week series about the joy of Jesus coming to earth.

Enjoying Advent
We hope you and your family are enjoying connecting with Jesus over this busy festive season. We have created an advent pack for each family who attends here.  If you haven't yet collected one, these are available from the info desk in the foyer.
If you have been enjoying these activities, we would love to see what you have been up to, please feel free to share these on out FBC KiDs facebook page.  You can find our facebook page here.
Staff Update
All of our staff team will be taking some time off over summer. Closer to the time we will be able to let you know more detail, including leadership team contacts over summer, and plans for Sunday mornings. Penny will be taking around six weeks leave from Monday 5th Dec through to early January.

We are grateful to have Sacha with us two days/week, which has been confirmed until the end of February. We ask for your continued prayer for her as she is in discussion with a range of churches about future pastoral ministry opportunities. Over the six week time that Penny is away, we are able to increase Sacha’s hours slightly to three days/week total, through the generosity of a family in our church. We also have another important update to share with the church this weekend.

The Jolly Fellow Show
On the 18th of December at 10am we will be having a wonderfully fun whānau Christmas service. It will be full of joy and fun and a little bit of silliness. All in the pursuit of celebrating the birth of Jesus together. Everyone is welcome, so invite all your friends and whānau!

Christmas Offering for "Missions"
For many years FBC has allocated its Christmas Day Offering to a "Missions" project. Last year the funds went to help Kevin and Gillian Bird employ a local worker. This person has worked out really well and they would like to keep him employed for another year if possible. The GAT Team would like to recommend that we again allocate the traditional Christmas Offering to this cause. Click this link for more details. The appeal is open through to the end of Jan. Please deposit any funds via the church bank account 01 0403 0013842 00 including the Ref. Christmas Offering or click here, and donate under "Overseas Missions"
