Wearing orange jumpsuits and hoods, and holding banners stating Close Guantánamo and Justice for Guantánamo Survivors, we witnessed to the 34 prisoners still held at the prison. Twenty of those prisoners were cleared for release—many more than a year ago. It was apparent from leafleting and speaking with passersby that people are unaware that prisoners cleared for release remain at Guantánamo. Nonetheless, almost everyone we spoke with supported closing the prison and were grateful for the witness."
