Whānau News: 6 April 2023

Dear whanau

These last few days after Resurrection Sunday, I have been pondering this scripture:
We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
2 Cor. 4:7-10

Praying that you too, will be deeply touched by the wonder contained in these words.

~ Sandra

The Abundant and Attractive Life / Steve Clark
Luke 7:12-16, John 10:10
This week we are starting a new series that look at what have we been called to do as the Church of Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:13-16 Jesus tells us that our role is to be light and salt in the world, to have an influence and to shine with the love of God in a way that declares the gospel message. This is our mandate to look beyond ourselves to our community, our nation and to the world.
Join us at 10AM in-person or online. We would love to have you join us online for the service if you are unwell.
For the Kids...
Happy holidays! We will be all in together for this service, to give our wonderful servant leaders a break.  There will be snacks and activity packs at the back of the auditorium for those that need them.

We hope you have a great school holidays.  Our kids church programme restarts for term two on Sunday 23rd April.

If you have any questions, please email carol@fbc.nz or come see Carol on Sunday.
Prayer at 5pm (Resumes this Sunday, 16th April)
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14. The presence of God’s Spirit fuelled by prayer brings God’s wisdom, strength and compassion into our lives and victory over the many issues that have held us back in the past. We would love you to join us, humble ourselves and pray -Sundays 5pm in the Church Auditorium.
