Whānau News: 19 May 2023

Kia Ora Church

I shared at Church a few weeks ago about a picture that someone had at eCamp. It was about the wind and how each tree moves differently as the wind affects it. This is a direct reflection of how the Holy Spirit works in our lives. Each of us hears and sees the Holy Spirit in a different way together as He is leading and guiding us all down the same path. It points to Jesus.

As we continue to discern what God has next for us at FBC, please remember to share what the Holy Spirit is doing in and around you. This brings encouragement to us as a church, as we strive to hear the voice of God together.

Grace and peace be with you this week.

- Josh van de Worp

Arotahi - Mission Focus / Panel with Marian
Guest Speaker: Susan
Today we continue our focus on Renew Together with Arotahi. We have a panel of church members sharing how God led them to use their skills and abilities for His Kingdom. This will be followed by a great speaker, Susan, a member of the NZBMS Mission Council sharing with us about how we are made in the image of God, each with unique talents that we can use to share the gospel. Join us at 10AM in-person or online. We would love to have you join us online for the service if you are unwell.
For the Kids...
Today the Preschool, Primary and Intermediate programmes will be following the Renew Together programme, looking at the unique way we are made in God's image and how we can use our strengths and abilities to serve Him.
If you have any questions, please email carol@fbc.nz or come see Carol on Sunday.
Prayer at 5pm
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14. The presence of God’s Spirit fuelled by prayer brings God’s wisdom, strength and compassion into our lives and victory over the many issues that have held us back in the past. We would love you to join us, humble ourselves and pray -Sundays 5pm in the Church Auditorium.

The Runway Foundation
The Runway Foundation currently has an opportunity for someone who has a passion to work with children and youth, to join their Team to lead the primary school aged programmes of support as well as mentoring for a few girls on our Youth programme. This is a fully paid position for 32-38 hours a week, including a few afternoons a week running programmes. It would absolutely amazing if we could help them find a new Team member that comes from a Christian community and has a love for our local community.
