Hey CD11,

It was another busy week at City Hall. The council unanimously approved my motion to explore using ULA funds for emergency rental assistance to support workers impacted by the wildfires. In Public Safety Committee, we advanced legislation I co-introduced with Councilmember John Lee to expand brush clearance and home hardening requirements by 16,000 acres, aligning local rules with California’s updated wildfire hazard maps

The Energy & Environment Committee also approved my legislation to repair and improve our fire hydrant network so we have high-functioning infrastructure when our communities need it most. And in Council, we addressed LAFD staffing needs and response times. LA needs dozens of new fire stations, which is why Councilwoman Rodriguez and I proposed a ballot measure to fund the long-term investments our City desperately needs.

Closing out the week, I welcomed the LAX Coastal Chamber Leadership Academy to Council Chambers. For over 17 years, the program has helped shape future leaders through civic engagement and public policy education. I was grateful to have the 2024–2025 cohort join us at City Hall!

More to come next week—stay safe, and have a great weekend!

Starting Off Strong In April - This week, Team CD11 made significant progress across the District! We successfully removed 11 nuisance vehicles, with our CARE+ and Coastal CARE+ Cleanup teams continuing their dedicated work to restore health and safety in our public spaces. We also partnered with our Bureau of Street Services to repair approximately 1200 square feet of concrete street that had fallen into disrepair at Napoli Drive.

To request services in your area, all you need to do is submit a service request through the MyLA 311 app or by calling 3-1-1. You can also forward the information to your CD11 Field Deputy.
