This month has certainly been a busy one. We've had tourists for sea kayaking days, courses to run and Mike and Stuart Yendle became the second people ever to sea kayak to the Smalls lighthouse! A huge thank you to Martin Armstrong and Martin Charlton for their help this month.
Our sea kayak courses have been very popular this summer so we've changed the format for our "upcoming stuff"; what was the point of me telling you about courses that were already full anyway? We now post the next courses that have spaces, under the heading "available courses" only and as you can see, there's not many left this year. As they've filled so fast this year we have added all of next years dates to our website for you.
Some people are already looking forward to our winter program which was hugely popular last year. You can have a sneak preview of the sea kayak dates here and we have the whitewater schedule for you to see. All of these dates are £40 per person, per day so let us know which you are interested in as places are limited!

Basic Sea Kayaking
This months beginners course saw a family book all of the places, with some preteens so we decided it would be better to run it as an intro to kayaking. Day one saw us use the SOT's and day two a sea kayak trip. |

It's been the wettest summer on record (apparently!) and Mike finally managed to catch some of the run off. A trip down a local run with NPBC paddlers helped to rid some of the cobwebs ahead of this winters whitewater season. Photos as always on our facebook page. |

Progressive Course
This month saw Steve and Hilary return to build on the skills they learned on a basic course with us and we welcomed another Steve and Liz who'd been on a course elsewhere before. Each person worked on improving different skils, including outside edge turns, bow rudders, navigation and a self rescue! Check out the photos on our facebook page. |
The Smalls Lighthouse
Nigel Foster first did this trip way back in 1984, he has been in touch and believes we may be the second ever to have sea kayaked out there! Read the story on Mike's blog.

Who's the Guru?
Mike's the "kayaking guru and guardian of the Pembrokeshire rivers" according to the new Welsh rivers guide! He helped out with the updates to our local runs for the latest edition of the book. The previous version used to be referred to by many as "the Bible" and we're looking forward to our copy arriving soon. As you can imagine, he's been dancing around since he heard the news! |
